A Pictorial History of Llanddulas Quarries

"On St Marks Day, April 25th 1284 was born Edward, Surnamed of Caernarfon (Edward the Second) the forth and eldest surviving son of his Royal parents".

The Bishop of Bangor who christened the young Prince had a splendid fee no less than a grant of the ferries of Borthwen and Canant, the Manors of Bangor, Castellmai, Garthogo Caernarfonshire; the Rocks by Abergelau (Llanddulas quarries) to get up limestone, with the Manors of Cantred and Treffos in Mona, to him and his successors for ever.
